Pinata

Pinata

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

a stuffed poem of angst

"

piñata

how I wish you were

a statue of david

piñata that I could

strike over and over

with a baseball bat

i’d watch you sway

back and forth

and all around

with your pink guts

of bubble-gum

pieces hanging out

what a productive

way to spend

my day

beating the crap

out of you

The flat-lined statment style of the poem really gets to the inner workings of the reader, you display the message clearly and without regret, well done, great read.

Anger management with poetry. Hit it once and get it over with.
