I'm Scared

The poem revolves around fear, loss, unrequited love, insecurities, heartache, longing, and sadness about losing someone you care deeply about.

I'm scared of everything that

is going on in your life. 

I’m scared of knowing that 

I'll lose you forever.

Just  knowing that you'll go

to college and will find 

Someone to care about.

Just knowing that you'll

get married and be happy.

I’m scared that you will forget me.

 You know how much

 I love and care for you.

But each day you keep slipping away.

Why do you keep ignoring me? 

Every time you see me you run away.

I don’t even know what’s going on.

In my nightmares  the closer I am 

To you, the more you fade away.

 

I am very happy for you, honestly.

But to think that I won’t be

part of your life hurts me.

 You probably do not want

Me in it again. After all, 

I keep causing you trouble.

 

I guess I thought that I would

make your life better. 

That you would be happy with me. 

But I was wrong and I can admit that 

I can never make you happy or be

 good enough for you.
