The Day You Were Born, You Begin to Die...4/05/23

A Poem by chuck

It seems to be a cruel hard fact Life and death
 are companions at birth.
 The day of your birth,
the world shouts out to you about time
 speaks to you silently about
 the beginning of the end.

The shadow you cast is the shadow of death.
No one knows the amount of time you have
 on your journey through life.

Life walks side by side, hand in hand with death
The cup of death fills up as life's cup empties
Life is the unknown. Death is the inevitable.

There will be a final curtain,
birth is just the opening act to a play
that will have no encores.

Nature has shown us that life
 is nothing without the knowledge
 that it's temporary,
there is finality.
 Life diminishes if thoughts
are surrounded by the obsession of death.
