Mango's TangoA Poem by ChloeJust to have a bit of fun and try writing something a bit different. Hope you like it.
It was four and twenty years ago, When Mango danced the tango; With a step over here and a step over there, All the others could do was just stare. He took a bow, And said, “Now, now No need to flatter Just sober your chatter.” It was four and twenty years ago, When Mango danced the tango; With his silky bow tie, It seemed he could fly Right into the arms Of his lucky charm. He flashed her a smile ‘n’ said, “Took you awhile.” It was four and twenty years ago, When Mango danced the tango; He held out his hand And signaled the band. “Come Miss Peray, come out and play. With you I could dance the whole night away.” Her long, slender fingers, she slid into his Only to be greeted by a soft, cheeky kiss. It was four and twenty years ago, When Mango danced the tango; Into the moonlights soft, twinkling glow They danced away the deadly night foe. Miss Pere let out a cry, “Tut, tut my Mango, do take heed, Remember now, let me lead.” It was four and twenty years ago, When Mango danced the tango; That night full of memories, Mango did keep. And caused many a restless night sleep. For a yes and I do Could pull any man through. Except for poor Mango, who’s thoughts on the matter Could cause quite a chatter. For a bachelor to he Was a handsome man free.
