Cotton Trees

Cotton Trees

A Poem by clovergirl

If you've ever seen a cotton tree
And how it's leaves glow
You've must of felt the excitement
Of when its cotton starts to show
Its tall, skinny skeleton
That you see through its leaves
The branches that sprout from the trunk
And when the wind blows how it howls and heaves
In the very beginning of summer
When the seeds slowly float down
The pure, innocent white color stands out
As the pieces fall to the ground
This is why I love cotton trees
They make anyone feel at home
When the sun filters through the leaves
And on my face it shone
