Timebomb

Timebomb

A Poem by Chloe

My life is spiraling out of control,

Yet all I am capable of is laughter.

I laugh all day long

Like I have no cares in the world-

While inside,

I’m dying.

I hold my head high,

So no one will notice my pain.

I laugh all day long,

To prevent myself from crying.

But who can keep up such a facade?

Not I.

And I worry about the day when it all comes out.

I’ve already hurt so many people along the way-

My friend and family I’ve pushed away-

But that was all foreshadowing to the main conflict,

The beeping before the bomb.

But what will happen

When I explode?
