Aunt Louise

Aunt Louise

A Poem by Geof
"

Written in memory of Louise Clark.

"

It seems like it was only yesterday

I held onto your hand.

But now you’ve slipped away

To a greater unknown land.

Like the fine, silken mist

That dances over the sea,

I feel like you’re somewhere near me;

Someplace barely out of reach…

My throat clenches,

My heart wrenches,

My eyes slowly begin to tear.

I swear I still hear your voice,

I swear that you’re still here.

Yet:

As dawn will mature to day,

As the moon hails to the sun,

You’re gone from this world,

Your time on earth is done.

Everyone will always miss you.

Your smile, your kindness, your cheer.

But at least there’s one thing that will always be true:

If we keep our memories of you with us,

You will always live on, remaining near.

About
I'm Geof. No, not really. I'm female, and I have a decidedly different name, but I love the name Geof, and I think it fits me better than my real name does. What does that say about me, I wonder?... .. more..
