A Poem by Moon

Flower's shadow
bent onto moon-lit path;
black as the night, near;
blacker than grass.
We were there -- not seen --
could listen, nor look, but discreet,
on the wind,
in the sound of a brook;
stood either side - and though far,
distance is none
to two in the dark.
Here are all things:
homeomorphic, bizarre!
- I have seen city lights
mingle with cars';
how day's end likens a tower --
and a tower likens trees;
and trees shaped
like the shadow of a flower,
only night knows
similarities
of ourselves and these.
