Hope

Hope

A Poem by Christina Dawson

One day we will finally be free,
From all the hatred in the world.
We will fly off into the sky,
And everyone else will wonder why.
Why do we get a chance to be free?
The answer is, because we know,
Who we want to be.
We refuse to sit back and be docile, why?,
Because we are tired of being treated like a child.
People decided to look down on us,
Now today is the day we will fly high,
And say goodbye to all the lies,
They laid upon us.
However, one day we will return,
And hopefully by then,
The world would have turned.
Into a place
Filled with peace and love.
Instead of always having to see people
Get laid down by one another.
