Fame

Fame

A Poem by Christina Byarm

earth's offered fame is miniscule

to be recognized by other dust

babes known by other babes

I want fame before all creation

the moon and the shooting stars

to be known by name amongst celestial bodies  and the spirits of the sea and skies

to be thought of and smiled upon by the most high

I am the most high and I smile upon you after having thought on this poem(': Haha, seriously though I really like this poem as it touches on the poignancy of time and reminds us that our lives are not much more than compilations of fleeting moments. I would also for aesthetic reasons consider leaving 'and the spirits of the sea and skies' on its own stanza to present the poem in a more block format with the last line being the longest. Thanks for sharing!
