'Tis a rather personal piece

Having a simple mind is not easy

I often drive some people crazy

Sometimes others get angry

Saying that my name doesn’t suit me

 

I know

I don’t think too often

The way others thought I do

I really don’t think that much

No~ I don’t think at all

 

My soul is free

My mind’s still empty

My imagination is a blank canvass

I can paint whenever I want

 

But if you ask

How I’m able to write

I’ll tell it to you

And I’m gonna be true

 

I can write dark poetry

For I’ve experienced it already

And all I wrote that were funny

Came from the little child within me

 

The serious piece I wrote

Were lessons I learned along the road

And all my words about love

Were dreams and wishes that I couldn’t have

 

So now, you there

You know me very well

If you want us to be friends

Don’t dare show pities

 

For I can’t think of a life

Better than I have now

And I can’t ask for a mind

That is as simple as mine

Author's Note

A simple mind.
That's all I can think of whenever I think about myself. I get happy over simple things and I don't question other's preferences. I dream of impossibilities so that I won't get disappointed.
I have a dark past, and I embraced it with my heart. I didn't run away from it, I run with it. I'm looking forward to my future still having a simple mind. This way, I'll be able to appreciate the beauty of stones around me, dance in the music of storm, and see in the core of darkness.

[Guilt]

The way we perceive ourselves will never ever be the way others see us. But what we don't have we will always want. My cup is overflowing constantly, wrinkling my hands. A simpler serving keeps the hands dry.

People would happily accept being driven crazy. I really enjoyed the thought path this poem led me on :)

Indeed, what we want are the things we don't have. It's a struggle to be contended with the things within our reach hehe I'm glad I did that though :)
