Don't Let Them Know

Don't Let Them Know

A Poem by Kaden Elias Sylvers
"

HOW many cutting poems did I write, exactly? O.o

"

Always have an answer don't you
Blur the lines between that dark murky atmosphere
and the fake pain that drives you
Wild Crazy Beautiful Real Alive
Serenaded edges coat your favorite
razor blades
Pick your poisons; curse the wicked
Icy walls tumble down and regenerate
In this sphere resiliency fights for you;
Ruby tears cascade
with your tainted dreams and haunted lust
'This is how it is,' you say
The lines blur and concave
Nobody is real anymore
'This whole thing is nothing but an illusion,'
You say,
Your spicy words burn your tongue but
Some people like it I guess
Little icy dream-like droplets fall
from your eyes of jaded fire
those green cat-eyes that see everything, feels everything
Always have an answer but for this,
You bleed out on your diamond floor
but you don't know why
Now smile for the camera and
Lock your demons inside
No one can know this is for real
Laugh with the plastic world of
barbie dolls and misogynists all dancing together in a little clubhouse
The blood shows through your sleeve
but you're dancing alright
So don't let the world know
'till you can answer 'Why.'
