A Poem by Courtney A

Drinking, drinking, drinking
I'm not trying to forget you
But at the same time I am
I'm trying to forget that you're not here
Trying to forget that I can't hold you
Can't kiss you, squeeze you, tease you
Can't be with you
And yet I can't live without you
So, here I sit
Trying to forget about all the s****y things by drowning my thoughts in a bottle of Bacardi
But all I can do is remember
Remember how i fell in love with your words
How I fell into those deep hazel eyes
I got lost in your smile
Hypnotized by your lips
Infatuated with your dark curls
Remember how I am ridiculously in love with a boy who live 1.168 miles away from me
I can't help but ache for him
For his touch, his love, his embrace
And even though I thought the liquor would silence the deafening thoughts of him
It didn't.
It only made them louder.
And I am in agony.

Your words are true and the emotions I could feel just by reading that was so real and powerful that I felt like I was living it.
I hope things get better. Alcohol isn't always the answer...but I guess sometimes it's the only company you can get sometimes.
