Just the thought of missing someone.

Unexpected

My ship is soon to sail
and though we can not foresee
what may lie ahead,
one can only hope that friendship 
will always remain.
Through the silent communication
the smiles and the stares 
that we have shared.
Short moments of wonder
and always a mystery ever after.

I hope from here on out
you'll always think of me
and though we haven't known each other
that well,
does not mean 
something beautiful can not be into fruition.

Maybe,
Friendship is all it is meant to be,
maybe . . .
more
but who are we to determine the path
that lies before us.

I know this much is true
even if our paths do not cross again
I'll always remember your smile
and the music and heart you shared.

I thank you for allowing me to share 
my delicate lyrics to you,
I hope we can collaborate them into
something more splendor,
but in the mean time
our future is unexpected
I'll just cherish the moment I have today.
