Try Again

Try Again

A Poem by Chong N. Kim

Try Again

Every day is a battle to me,

The long and painful fight

To free myself from misery.

There were times,

I was caught up in the moment,

And I’ve made my share of mistakes.

But all I can do,

Is pick myself up and try again.

Dust myself off, and move on.

Should you judge me?

Should you not?

Is it up to me to decide?

Were you there?

The time when I did my wrong?

Should you have the right,

To judge me at all?

Save your slanders,

Cause I refuse to here them anymore.

I’ve grown to the woman I am now

I’ve had my share of tears,

And here I am standing tall today.

The difference between you and I,

I kept trying again.

Even when the fall was much too deep,

It took awhile for me to get up,

But I was able to do it on my own?

Could you step in my shoes,

And tell me you’d do the same?

Could you survive the way I did,

And still come out alive?

So, don’t bother telling me

Something that I don’t know.

No matter, how many times

I will fall, I’ll always have the

Opportunity to try again.
