The Marmalade coloured Dog

The Marmalade coloured Dog

A Story by Cassidy Mask
"

Inspired by three words that my father randomly said to me: Dog Marmalade & Wheelbarrow. and my friends observation that dogs are never happy just being dogs.

"

The Marmalade

Coloured Dog

Sat in the Wheelbarrow

A passing cat

Asked him why

He looked so sad

I am a Dog

Replied the Dog

That will never be a human

Why

Exclaimed the cat

Should you not then be glad?

Glad?

Asked the Dog

What is there to be glad of?

Why

Exclaimed the cat again

You are a Marmalade

Coloured Dog

And you are sitting in

A Wheelbarrow

What is there not to be glad of?

Indeed!

Mused the Dog

I had not thought of it

In that way before

But now I see that you are right

How silly I have been!

And so the cat

Went on his way

And the Marmalade

Coloured Dog

Sat in his Wheelbarrow

Certain that he must be

The happiest Dog in the

Whole wide world

I love this. It reminds me of winnie the pooh for some reason? Maybe because the voice you read it to me in was the same voice you use for pooh.
btw Lizzie says ceebz on town tomorrow, do you still wanna go?

This one made me chuckle. Isn't it so true that some of us only need to be told that we should be happy? A very clever and enjoyable poem, Claire.
