Without Myself

Without Myself

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

‘Hear me’ I call

But the wind rips

Away my voice

Tossing it into

The wildly

Dancing leaves

I cup my hands

Around my mouth

Praying

Someone hears me

But the world

Is dead

Empty

Forgotten

And no ears remain

To hear me

Cry

But what did

I expect

Your breathing

Is slow at my ear

As you whisper

In your sleep

About

The falling stars

The crashing waves

About

The fading days

The aching hearts

‘Hear me’ I breathe

My breath

Caressing your dark skin

As I watch myself

Die

In your eyes

Because dreams

Have taken you

Far away

And without you

I cannot exist

I cannot live

I cannot be real

Without you

I am without myself

Wow, this is powerful. I love the imagery in this poem as well as the short powerful lines. Just kinda stabs at you (that is a very good thing.) Keep writing, I love poems like this. Flora.
