His Addiction (And My Obsession With Clouds)

His Addiction (And My Obsession With Clouds)

A Poem by Cassidy Mask
"

Hmmmm.....

"

The clouds hung low

Their heavy grey bodies

Threatening to rain

I breathed in

Their liquid scent

Hoping they would

He was addicted

To it

And I was addicted

To him

Happiness

Walked on the other side

(Where the grass was greener)

(And clouds were scarce)

I reached out my hand

Longing for the touch

Of the cool moisture

Longing for the touch

Of a cloud

The sky was black

(Thunder and)

Lightning crackled softly

Sending its long

Thorny fingers

To strike the earth

He was addicted

To it

(And it killed him)

And I was addicted

To him

(And…)

Now the clouds

Have smothered

The earth

A heavy black blanket

He had the

Addiction

And I an

Obsession with

Clouds

Very nicely written poem but rather sad. The clouds seem to bring comfort, sort of (I say that because at the end the clouds appear more menacing) to you who was left behind. Over all, very well done.
