Umbrellas, Red & Blue

Umbrellas, Red & Blue

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Umbrellas

Two umbrellas, one

Red, one blue, meander through

The rainforest. They

Meet. ‘Hi’s are exchanged.

They pass. Two umbrellas

meander through the rain.

Red Umbrella

Camera in hand

He’s the backpacking tourist

‘Click click’ as he walks.

Tall and blonde, brown eyes.

He strides along, enchanted

By each new sighting.

Blue Umbrella

Curly hair erupts

From beneath her umbrella.

Eyes watch the water.

She’s not a tourist

Unfortunately. Ambles

Along in flip flops.
