No Better

No Better

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Daylight turns to dusk

And I’m hiding again,

Locked in the dark

Because I just found out

I’m no better than the devil.

Your condemning words

Replay in my head

And the tears drip

Off my lips

Onto my hands,

Clenched on the windowsill.

“It’s not enough to just believe”
