Wasted

Wasted

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I think you knew

I had but few

Hours left.

You hid the clocks

That ticked away

My life in

Every room

And fixed a

Half shy smile

On stretched lips.

Still nothing could hide

Your spasms of grief

And guilt, you wore

Your pain like a heavy scar

And in the darkness

Tore the scab from

Off the wound

To watch the

Flow of tears and

Blood and

How they mixed.

And I,

Wasted away in the

Moonlight.
