Pops

Pops

A Poem by CLBombay

"Careful"

My old man said, “careful”
when you do the things you dare
put your life through to get
the nearly impossible.

What do you know.
We got a plan
mostly in our heads.
Me and my friends
we know what we’re doin’.

Too long of getting to play,
but never getting to win
we got boiling revenge in our veins

we’re gonna use our noggins too
to drink millions,
win bow-down b*****s and
feed the cameras.

We used to wait.
We used to ride shotgun.
Today the bows will be satisfactory
but the redemption will be forever glorious

'cause I got recipes to this unfair ingrediants.
Here, me and my friends
we know what it’s like.
We got this.
'Cause we just know.

My pops, who’s lived too long and too tired said,
"Careful."

I said, “Watch me, pops. What do you know.”

Don't really think that this is my best... but I had fun writing it.
