What I Thought.

What I Thought.

A Poem by Lauren

It began with your choice
to say maybe it could be me,
before you asked for one kiss,
before there was power
or need.

The power came secretly
along with the thrill of hurt.
A faceless, vapid w***e
and just another choice.

Then there was nothing.
Then there was nothing.
Then there was nothing.
Then there was...

"I love you."

Words imply emotions imply choice.
Pretty, smart, talented...
but empty.
I waited.

Everything changed.
Nothing did.

I lied.
