I know what they say is true,

When they say; ‘I want to spend everyday with you.’

When I have you in my arms,

I need not worry myself with petty qualms.

 

When I’m with you I’m light of heart,

Except for when I must depart,

But to every day, joy you bring,

So much so, my heart does sing.

 

In my life people come and people go,

And many more I’ll never even know,

Bit it is with you that I wish to stay,

To love you, be with you, day after day.

 

I want to shield you from this worlds hate,

Though I know I may already be too late.

Truth-be-told, you may not need it, when

            push comes to shove.

Never-the-less, I’ll always be at your side,

            there for you my love.
