Stir S**t

Stir S**t

A Poem by coin

Have you noticed

that jobs are organized to interrupt you

just frequently enough that you never

get any consistent thinking done

about your life?

I have.

I've asked several people at my worksite if they've noticed this.

They typically think on it for a moment, then dismiss

the idea with a shake of their head

I understand those are threatening questions to men with mortgages.

car payments.

kids in school.

Running back and forth to oil platforms a hundred miles offshore

Never much considering what they're really any good for.

No budding artists here :)

And I understand my position

and the flexibility of thinking I enjoy.

Trading Lovers

I do what pleases me

Taking time,

Luxury

No one has told you

But you'll never amount to anything.

We've even got you to Love your Suffering

You'll defend it when the time comes.

Forgive me for tugging

at the rug you so tenuously stand on.

Thinking all the while

that

it's

Granite Stone.

Preoccupied workers tend to walk a straight and narrow...
and not stop to smell the roses...
as you ended this is that manner...
they are more worried about the money...
and not about life itself...
