The Sun

The Sun

A Poem by Nicholas Johnston
"

We all have dark moments in our lives; times which seem like an endless night. Know that you can always overcome it. Know that your Sun will always come, in time.

"

Gradual ascent to the noble sky,

Dispelling the evil rule of old.

Conveying the light to a world of Dark,

Forthwith, my wounded heart behold!

The banished sins of nightly sorrow,

The murdered evils that haunt tomorrow.

Now, in myself I expel the Darkness.

Now freedom shall be my eternal guidance.

No, but only a dream I see;

The horizon is yet a veil of the night.

For there shall be no salvation here,

But still I know the Sun is near.

But still I know the Sun is near.
