Rainbow of Grey

Rainbow of Grey

A Poem by AlanaLJay
"

Truth

"

A rainbow of colours shinning as grey as my eyes

You would be able to see if only my head was raised

If my soul wasn’t hidden beneath the weight of the world

My world

Discouraged from its intensity as it drapes my shoulders

As these tears well up and slip from my heart

The strands of colour stain my face

Leaving impressions of sorrows longing to be released

My canvas fills as each sorrow, each memory falls

As they fall, the weight lifts and with it my face

Following the stains from where they dropped from my edge

Slowly making your way to their place of origin

Hypnotised by these eyes released from sorrows and memories

No longer grey but rather tinted in the brightness of hope

Eyes and hopes released in a single word

Beautiful

I enjoyed this, I particularly liked your word choice. It conveyed a picture to me and made feel as though I was looking at the person. Well done!
