roses

roses

A Poem by brianna vega

she gave her heart up
only to receive shards in return
icy glass cutting in to her palms as she clutched on
furiously grasping the smooth glass
her finger tips curled
driping buds of crimson
as the roses in her heart darkened
she shut her eyes to all
all that existed was solid
all that was dreamt
floated from clouds out her lips

A perfect poem of furious rejection, the bartender quietly pours another.
