unsteady ground

unsteady ground

A Story by Courtney McCormick
"

this actually kind of sucks but whatever, I was feeling it

"
I remember when you slept over my house the first time
I came down in the morning and saw you sitting there, your head resting in your hands
You seemed so stressed, so unsteady
I was afraid you might have gotten bad news, or you were regretting spending the night
But I put that all aside, and crawled onto your lap
I let your head rest on my chest and held you tight
I knew whatever was on your mind you weren't going to talk about
so I figured making you forget was the next best thing
I kissed you, regardless of my morning breath and the crust in my eyes
I saw your smile and I knew I made whatever was on your mind disappear

Those days are gone, along with you

I'm not even sure what to put here. I enjoy writing; I haven't done it in a while so I might be a little rusty. All I can really say about myself is that I'm happier, I'm healthier, but I also still f.. more..
