Why Books Have Covers

Books are smart,

Smater than you or me

because books have covers

Covers to keep what's inside safe

Covers to be sure they can survive

But don't judge a book by it's cover

Because sometimes what you see

Isn't always what you get.

Wow. What a message!

This a really short and sweet poem, and I like it a lot. I ADORE the last two lines:

"Because sometimes what you see
Isn't always what you get."

It's sad, but it's strong. Sometimes, to deliver a specific message, you don't need to many words.
