Cherry Kisses

Cherry Kisses

A Poem by Pyrrha Rayn

Bandaids cover..

Red cherry kisses...

As the sweet syrup falls into the hole filled face.

She doesn't do this..

To feel beautiful..

She does because it's what she deserves.

How true those words ring...

You're a venus fly trap..

Beautiful on the outside poisonous on the inside.

She is snapping apart...
Her hope fading like a candle with no wick....
Nobody realizes how much self hatred fills her body.

But look..

How do you not see...

That familiar look of exhaustion in her eyes.

And look at those legs and arms...

Filled with bandaids...

That cover cherry kisses.

She asks for an end..

To this misery..

When will her salvation come?

She begs death to take her..

But he for some reasons..

Declines her requests.

And now she grows numb...

As her hopes fade to ash...

She stands alone and cries.

Cries..

Cries..

And Cries.

And she hugs herself..

As the bandaids fall away..

Revealing those cherry kisses.
