Maze of Mirrors

Maze of Mirrors

A Poem by Pyrrha Rayn
"

One of those days

"

       I'm standing in a funhouse

Trapped in a maze of mirrors

       Scrambling for the right direction

But instead of my reflection

       So many others appear

Those who I've seen before in my life

       They stare at me

Mocking me

Judging the direction I try to take

Then at once they all begin yelling

Telling me to chance directions to

To go a different way

       I'm panicking

Do I go left or right?

I turn to look and the floor behind me

Is starting to grow black

It's cracking and falling into a nothingness

A nothingness that seems to threaten to swallow me

I gulp and turn back towards the reflections

I beg them to stop their talking

It's beginning to become to much to bear

But their voices only grow louder in volume

       I cover my ears

Trying to drown out their words

I feel tears falling down my face

I don't know where to go

I don't know who to believe

Suddenly there is silence

       I think they've stopped talking

Then suddenly I realize

       That

                                        I'm falling.
