her

her

A Poem by marcia birgen

She comes off strong
Yet she falls asleep crying

She acts like nothing is wrong
She is really good at lying

She is sad and lonely
Without nobody to talk to

She wears a mask
That always smiles
To hide her past behind her lie

She is bleeding inside
With wounds that will never heal

Same on the outside
Same on the inside

She has a story
She is dying to tell

Great poem. Great last line. Maybe her epitaph will enlighten.

I guess pretty much every female alive and breathing would relate to every single word you have written here

Kudos to all the ladies out there that have survived a story or two
For those who kept going and listened to all the trash talk and decided

to smile anyways

I really enjoyed reading this particular piece
