The Untitled Song

The Untitled Song

A Poem by TSelena
"

This is a song I wrote about people who overcome tragedy.

"

Verse: This is a song undeserving of a title

This is a song of my deepest regret

In the name of all things sacred, desecrated by all the hatred

That feels as if to all these hearts it’s spread

I honestly cannot even describe it

The way these emotions flooded into my heart

Too watch something that swallowed, so much space and now it’s hollow

A place that is by death marked...

Chorus: Who gave you permission to tear us down!

After our forefathers had labored for all those years

We build it up, and you break it down!

Igniting the fire of our worst fears

So, we won’t give you anymore power!

We won’t give you more of what you’ve stolen,

You are the monster, you are the evil, you are the thieves

That stole this all from me,

But we remain strong, hope you can see

Verse: This is a letter to your burning souls

We will forever triumph

March through valleys of loss, and for the cost

Of making hallow what you corrupt

A symbol of the strength of a people

Torn down for your malignant views

Your sickly cancer, your sinful banter

Will only get you more hell to pay, and someday soon

Hook: We will rise up, brothers and sisters

Children of the weak, the weary

We will conquer, all you stole from us

Take it back before the day is over...

Bridge: And if this song makes you livid

I’ve done part of what I came to do

I also want you to know that we won’t bow down

To the evil thoughts that reign inside you

Hope that your blood will boil

The work that you toiled

Will not prosper against us!

We are the chosen ones...the scarred ones, the brave ones, the unrelenting,

We will get back up!
