the real you

the real you

A Poem by Ellis Hughes
"

this is a poem about unknown identity and hiding behind a mask of personalities to suit other people

"

Brocken and falling apart in the dark.

The mask crack and they finally see the true you.

The you that’s been hiding for years.

The you that you were trying to protect because nobody like the real you.

The you that you hid behind the mirror of personalities that reflects what they want to see.

Brocken and falling apart.

Nobody knows how it feels to ache in silence and put on a smile for others sake.

Nobody knows what its like to never really know the real you.

Nobody knows what its like to tear yourself up inside trying to find a fragment of who you once were.
