Get Close

Get Close

A Poem by Remembering Love
"

Whose fault is it that this won't work?

"
Get close to me
so I can push you away
Come closer
so I can hide my demons for a day
I want you
but not if you want me too
So I dare you:
Find a way to make me stay with you

I like the structure, the words flow well. It feels like a personal poem, a tiny snapshot into the mind, but I don't feel totally drawn in because of the shortness of it. A second verse could help to connect with it more, but it is cool as it is too. I also like the contrast between the lines, and the way the person seems to want opposites at the same time. Keep it up :)

A very good short poem. Honest and direct emotions and words. Need is a funny words. Each of us want more or less. Hard to find equal ground. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
