Why did I fold my hand?

Why choose another fight?

How long would we have gone to know we shouldn’t stay?

I remember when your head caught flame,

It kissed your scalp and caressed your brain.

I saw you walk the wire,

I saw you burn away.

I’m sorry for blaming you for all the things i just couldn’t do

And I’ve hurt myself by hurting you.

Lord, forgive me for the things I’ve done,

I was never meant to hurt no one.

I saw scars upon a broken-hearted lover.

Once upon a time we fell apart,

You should’ve seen that I would only mess you up.

Now you’re holding in your hands the two halves of my heart.

I should’ve seen eventually you would give up.
