Rain

Rain

A Poem by cynthiaalise
"

This is a free verse poem that expresses a summer memory in winter.

"
The morning ends in
lightning
like velvet rain
         -all the summer skin

in water
like wet hair across a stomach
and all the sky’s glorious clouds
brilliant grey,
         -and needed

they are wild in the flowers
like purple and oceans
feeling like a petal hand
          -of the softest fingers

into and out of the small of your back
your brown eyes by a full sun
in the beaded morning,
          -star drops in summer rain

I think we dare not swim as thunder.

Grey skies place darker emotions on a reader yet, a spark of light releases are tension, to a better place.
a dark yet light poem it brought down and uplifted. a nice exploration of rain. I feel the line "like purple and ocean" is rather odd feeling and im not sure if colour was a good choice as part of a simile but I enjoyed the poem overall.

I really like this. :) It has an ethereal, magical feeling to it. Nicely done.
