Hot and Cold

Hot and Cold

A Poem by DakotaJ

How are you feeling?
Are you hot?
Are you cold?
Touch me..
So I know.
Are you here?
Or have you gone?
Are you dreaming?
Am I wrong?
Does your heart beat?
Or does it sleep?
The monitor won't beep.
What will it take
For you to wake?
What will help more:
If I scream?
or if I plead?
The men say you've passed
So I've asked:
When will you return?
And where did you go?
Am I allowed to know?
Will you bring home a gift?
Or maybe a surprise?
What does it mean if you die?
It's a shame you left so soon,
They're throwing you a funeral.
I've been told everyone would show.

How is Heaven?
Is it hot?
Is it cold?
Touch me so I know
