Purposeful Words

Purposeful Words

A Poem by Liam

I believe that love should be whispered through closed doors,
That lust should be practiced in crowded train stations.
We give up so much of ourselves,
I do not write anymore.
It’s because I do not have a door to whisper through,
Though, I have no desire to love and be loved.
I cannot live my life in solitude,
I can’t live in a partnership.
Freedom craves my name and I will do anything to bow to it,
My wants and cares and my responsibilities and my sleep.
So many sad poems about sleep,
No one has thought the root to sadness lies with lack of sleep.
No sleep, no sleep, no sleep,
But I crave sleep.
I keep myself awake to cover my lack of sleep,
My lack of lust, lacklustered dear.
Have lust, I will serve it to you,
I will serve it to you both, you three, or four, or more.
My specialty is giving mine away to those who need it more,
I have no want or use for something that won’t bring me joy.
Life plays me very little on the tennis court,
We enjoy it that way.
Many times, I lose the match on purpose,
There is no purpose to winning.
Only purpose lies in ramblings,
Purposeful words.
