Plea

And I hope you keep writing

F**k I hope you all do 

I hope that even if we are thrown to the streets

When papers burn at the thought of tattooed words

If they outlaw imagination to be spun out of control

Even then

I hope you continue to write 

Even if your hands break from the responsibility of it

Even if it is not an assignment or task given by god

But because it is something your mind wishes to do

That your heart only bleeds of want for 

I hope that you would never tire of it

Even if our teacher stops giving assignments 

Of writing poems following syntax and diction

Even if our newsletter lets us go from our jobs

That you would continue to write 

Upon the palms of my hands with broken charcoal

Or with the stencils of ashes and ashes 

And just to etch your mind' crevices with words unsaid 

I hope you just write 

Despite all odds and horrible instances

Despite everything else and anyone else

Please just write for the sake of writing
