You Are A Beautiful Flower

You Are A Beautiful Flower

A Poem by grey

you are a beautiful flower

*were

you were a beautiful flower

but then you began to wilt

the red petals crumble then fall

and you wonder if they were ever a part of you at all

how can you be beautiful

when you are dead

and all your petals which were once bright red

now float as memories in your mother's head

the pillow of red was your deathbed

you were the most beautiful flower

so the world hated you for your power

it struck, it hit

it bit

it tore away your leaves

it sucked the breath from your mouth so all it does is heaves

bold red turned to pale white

an empty color that lost all light

all the petals fell away

and the world cried victory that day

for you were the most beautiful flower

extremely beautiful language helps to capture that vivid imagery. i enjoyed the way this poem was laid out and how you corrected yourself from "are" to were*. i look forward to reading more of your works and definitely will be subscribing to your profile. :)

Great work here. The imagery is amazing. I could see every line in my head. I could feel every line in my heart. Very descriptive. Keep up the great work.
