COMING OF SPRING

COMING OF SPRING

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

COMING OF SPRING

Skies are blue in the light of day,
Winter’s still here, but will soon go away,
Birds will sing and flowers will grow,
Grasses will sway, whichever way the wind blows,
Cats will stalk like an eagle to its prey,
Dogs will bark in their yards where they stay,
Trees will bloom in shades of green,
Flowers will grow in the coming of spring,
Lovers will walk in parks and places,
Fathers will talk to their children they raise,
Mothers will sing their sweet lullabies,
Babies will coo at the sites they see,
As the wintertime leaves,
And spring comes in full swing.

I look forward toward Spring. We have a long way to go. I like the description and the hope for a warm and sunny day to come. Thank you for the excellent poem.
