Day Dreamer

Day Dreamer

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

DAY DREAMER

She dreams a lot;
About the one she loves,
Not just at night,
But, every time she wakes up.

She feels his touches,
His kisses,
Hears his words,
As though, he is there.

She is counting the days,
When he will be there,
To hold her again.

When she’s in class,
She does her very best,
Knowing that he,
Loves her nonetheless.

Every night,
When she sleeps,
She dreams of him holding her;
And, it feels so sweet.

She is still amazed
At what she has found
In this man,
Who makes her smile
And never frown.

His love for her,
Has put her,
On the highest cloud,
Her heart is so happy,
With him, she feels proud.

God not could not make,
Such a more perfect pair,
There is definitely an angel,
Watching them up there.
