For Becca

For Becca

A Poem by Danielle Calhoun

DEAR BECKY

Has it really been this long since you left us here alone?
Your smile and beauty although only on line
I saw and felt every time

I remember the images the pictures in my head
your dark beautiful hair your eyes and your flawless skin

I remember the chats the talks that we had
they called us twins I feel like we were more than that

We were sisters in another time another place

Not just twins but something else;
you reminded me of me and I of you

I sometimes wish it were me instead of you

You gave me a blessing before you passed on
to the beautiful place where you met your Dad and Mom

Eagles that once soared now resting in peace
with the beautiful sun forever shining

Just like the morning when I open my eyes
still wishing you were here

Still wishing
it was just a dream.
