Ablaze

Ablaze

A Poem by daniothemanio

Ablaze

The glow of a young fire

the clinks of glasses

feet propped up near the building heat

fumes growing.

out comes a red jug

held by the desire to grow

haste leads to the splash

Boom goes the young blaze

as it explodes into a monster

Shoes melt, grass burns

out comes a laugh

a spiteful chatter comes

directed towards the bringer of the red jug

The blaze dies down to an inferior level

down to a decent glow

with the crackle of the logs

fumes still lingering from the past

all else settled

the blazes end is near

I am left staring at the final minutes of the glowing light

I really liked the final line of this poem. I also enjoyed the line that says "fumes still lingering from the past" because it gives a vivid image of the smoke in a creative way.
