Sounds We Make in the Morning

Sounds We Make in the Morning

A Poem by DanielScanlon

We all make sounds in the morning

That escapes us without any luck

You’ll sneeze without any effort

And fart to make you quack like a duck

From the moment you wake in the morning

Till that moment you fall fast asleep

The odors and sounds that emit from your body

Are enough to wake the dead from the deep.

Just when you thought it was safe

To ascend in the elevator ride

You’re trying desperately to hold it all in

But fail no matter how hard you tried

Everyone looking around you

Everyone plugging their nose

Praying you’ll soon reach your floor

But everyone already knows

It was you who sharted quite loudly

You had everyone holding their breath

As you plug your nose and exclaim quite proudly

“Hey look, I escaped my own death!
