Deathless Love

Deathless Love

A Poem by Aldora Sparrow
"

In tribute to Sullivan Ballou. We honor you.

"

Blissful moments
Many happy years
Crawling over me
So may tears

My love for you
Is forever deathless
My feelings for you
I cannot express

My last breath
On the battlefield
Whispers your name
My fate is sealed

If the dead could walk
Across the land
I would be there
Softness at your hand

In the darkest of nights
Or the gladdest of days
I will be there
For eternity, always

That soft breeze
Upon your cheek,
Will be my breath
So quiet, so weak

That cool air against
Your gentle face,
Just me, holding you
In my loving embrace

Please, do not
Mourn me dead
Just smile and
Wait for me, instead.

My love for you
Is forever deathless
I shall wait for you
Just you and me, us
