Burning Sun

Burning Sun

A Poem by chandlerl

I am not proud

although I am not frail

in the misgivings I've given to you.

I had forgotten the life- the friendship

the good times- I had with you.

I did indeed, take them for granted

Our friendship

was as the sunset,

so beautiful,

but when I got too close

I felt, as if I were burning.

But you were and have been

my best friend

and words can never express the sorrow

the sadness

given to me

since you've left.

So sad. The poems gives me the feeling of an impossible relationship; you get too close - burnt, too far - start to miss the sun's heat. . hard to find the balance, and if you do , it's seen as taken for granted.
