Hidden

I watch you there

as your smile grew

your eyes they shone

as a laugh emerged

We talk between classes

but I'm afraid

scared you'll notice

cause I'm not brave

Someday I'll have 

the guts to tell you 

just how I feel

but tell me is it real

Can you see me 

or am I hidden to well

lost in my hoodie

I'm smiling can you tell

I don't know 

where it'll lead

but I have to tell you

about my dream

We were dancing

under the stars

we were laughing

you knew my name

In that moment

we were the same

our eyes locked

and we froze

Maybe I'll have 

the guts to tell you 

just how i feel

but can you tell me

could it be real

Can you see me 

or am I hidden to well

inside my hoodie

I'm fallin can you tell

I told you the truth

you laughed and said cool

I have a girlfriend

she goes to our school

It hurts

I know you can't see

confrontation through text

protects you from me

I swear I won't cry

force myself to smile in your face

I won't run away

from your kind embrace

That day 

I had the guts to tell you

the feelings I bottled inside

Can you see me

or am I hidden to well

inside my hoodie

I'm cryin can you tell

Someday you said

just maybe you explained

but I'm over it now

through hiding my pain

That day 

I revealed myself

told you the truth

Now we are friends

at least I think

the messages our proof

My feelings are still here

they won't go away

but I'm fine now

no game to play

What I really like ; this poet writes from experience and puts into words what she knows well ( my English teacher many years ago - himself an excellent writer always said, make it new, make it true, make it you...and you do !)
